Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy (as it is called in the United States), is a health profession that deals with therapeutic management of bodily dysfunction, by use of physical techniques and agents of nature called modalities. The aim of this therapeutic system is to promote optimal human health, and function through the application of scientifically tested and proven principles.

When you may want see a Physical Therapist?
  • Decrease in ambulation (i.e.. distance, quality of walking).
  • Decrease in sitting/standing balance (both static and dynamic).
  • Selecting an assistive device (cane, walker).
  • Contractures of lower extremities, trunk.
  • Decrease in range of motion (ROM) in lower extremities.
  • Increase/decrease in muscle tone.
  • Stage III and IV decubitus ulcers.
  • Decrease on wheelchair propulsion. etc etc.
